Our Mission

Ternafit is a Swedish-based tech nonprofit building the digital platforms, websites, and training programs that empower Tigrayan communities and local organisations worldwide. Our mission is built on three pillars:

1. Preservation

  • Document and preserve Tigray's 3,000-year history and cultural heritage
  • Archive evidence of the 2020-2022 war for future generations
  • Protect irreplaceable cultural sites and artifacts
  • Create a permanent digital record of Tigrayan civilization

2. Education

  • Provide accurate, evidence-based information to global audiences
  • Support scholars, journalists, and policymakers with reliable data
  • Educate the international community about Tigray's significance
  • Promote understanding of Tigrayan culture and history

3. Advocacy

  • Raise awareness about ongoing humanitarian needs
  • Support documentation of human rights violations
  • Amplify Tigrayan voices on the international stage
  • Advocate for reconstruction and reconciliation

All content in the Tigray Knowledge Base is: - Sourced: Information comes from verified international sources, academic research, and documented testimonies - Cross-referenced: Statistics and claims are verified against multiple sources - Transparent: Uncertainties and limitations are clearly indicated - Updated: Content is regularly updated with the latest available information
